Almost Done with The Lovely Bones!
Woah. Lindsay broke into Mr. Harvey's house to find evidence that he did murder Susie and it completely backfired on her. She found drawings of the cornfield, where in fact she was murdered, but as always Mr. Harvey has a story to back up every single thing in his life. She rips out the drawing and just then he comes home. She had to jump out of the window and he saw that it was her. I can't believe she had the guts to do that, and it really stinks because she told Len about the drawing, but yet again it wasn't "enough" evidence to prove anything. And, Mr. Harvey created a made up story which the police keep on buying. When will they find good enough evidence? I feel so bad for Susie especially because she can see exactly what is happening on Earth yet she can not do a thing about it. I wish she could directly communicate with them to help prove that Mr. Harvey was the murderer. In the book, towards the end it is the one year mark of Susie's killing. Ray goes to the place where it is believed she was killed and he feels as though she is right there. That's probably because she is-she can somewhat connect with the people in Earth. What will it take to prove that Mr. Harvey is the murderer, and when will people see through his lousy stories that do not match up?
Half Way Through The Lovely Bones
I am half way done with the Lovely Bones and it is getting more and more intense. So much has been revealed about the murder and the family problems going on while Susie is "inbetween" Earth and Heaven. Lindsay, Susie's sister is siding with their father, that Mr. Harvey committed the murder but Len the officer refuses to do anything with out legitimate evidence. Susie's mom is also acting differently, but she does something terrible: she cheats on her husband with Len. I think its terrible what she did, but I somewhat understand because she probably feels so much tension and sadness with her husband that she needs to take her mind off of the tragedy that had occurred. I feel so bad for the Dad because he feels so alone, and is the only one who feels that it was Mr. Harvey who murdered Susie. Lindsay also has a feeling he is the murderer but doesn't tell him until later on. Meanwhile, we find out about Ray-Susie's friend who liked her and made her well aware of that, before she was killed. Ray was a suspect in the murder of Susie but he was proven not guilty. It is really sad what happened to Susie, and hopefully her dad will be able to find the murderer of his daughter.
