The Pact by Jodi Picoult *almost done!!*

These past few chapters have been so intense. Finding out about the relationship Emily and Chris had before the shooting is so amazing. The way Picoult makes their relationship work is the picture perfect story. It made me so incredibly happy reading it. I wonder if Chris and Emily had been talking about Emilys suicidal problems for a while, or if they just shot up out of now where. We are still waiting to find out why she became suicidal and I can not wait to find out. The story talked about some fights Emily had with Chris- when she felt he passed a "boundary". I think their relationship is adorable and it made me upset to read about their first real fight. They can't live with out each other, which is why i don't understand why Emily would want to die. It seems like everything is going well with them but then bam they attempt to kill each other. As the book flips back and forth between present and past, the situation Chris is in right now, is absurd. It bothers me so much that melanie thinks Chris is guilty. He is only 18 and is stuck in jail for no reason. I want to find out if he ends up being guilty! I can't even begin to understand what Chris is feeling right now. Hopefully the story will really get moving so we can find out the result of the actions made by Chris and Emily. Keep you posted! (:

The pact by Jodi Picoult

This book just keeps getting more and more intense. The conclusions made by Chris's mother is so surprising that she wants to get a lawyer. I find that hard to believe because for all other tough decisions she's the one that stands up for things. If she knew that deep down Chris didn't truly murder Emily then why would she want to get him a lawyer...just incase? As the story has been unraveling more and more, Gus's odd nightmares are continuing. I find it so strange and weird that she is having nightmares about her son getting kidnapped-while she is with him. At the end of one of the descriptions of the dream she makes an amazing discovery which gave me the chills. One of dreams, they are able to escape and she saves Chris. This is clearly a flashback-but she realizes that the reason they get out is because Jamie was in the passanger seat all along. When I read that it made me so insanely happy. I actually got the chills. It was so empowering and made me realize that even when you least expect it or even know it, the people who care the most are always there with you. I can't wait to get into the core of the book. Keep you updated!

The Pact by Jodi Picoult

I am getting pretty far into the book and its so good. I dont wan't to give too much away so I will leave it at this-WOW. Finding out all about the past is mind boggling. The book is now in the past, way before the car accident and it brings us back to how each mothers gave birth. The stories sound so happy, which makes me wonder, how could this possibly be a sad book? My prediction of the pact being that they both kill each other was right-now we are just finding out why. Melanie and James have Christopher, so they decide to get a dog. The dog is named Charlie, and since the dog got sick they had Michael check him out. The decision to just let him die naturally sounded just fine. When I read how Charlie really cried, I completely broke down. With out ruining what happened, I will tell you this much-the way he dies is the most unethical and upsetting thing a human could ever do. The actions of James causes Melanie to get so upset so she leaves him and brings Christopher with her. How could you separate your new son from his dad so early on? Are they ever going to get back together? The actions of Michael upset me so much. If I could meet him in person I would get so angered I would have to walk away. I don't know why he is acting so weird, because he seemed like such a great guy at the beginning of the book. Can't wait to keep you all updated as I get further on in the book, its getting more and more intense as I go on!
